How to Care for Your Glasses

It’s important to look after your glasses to keep them looking and feeling their best.

Cleaning

Always use a clean microfiber cloth to clean your glasses. If they need a good clean, use a lens spray on either side of your lenses before wiping lenses with your cloth. Clothing, tissues or cleansers with alcohol can scratch or damage your lenses.

Wearing & Handling

Always remember to use both hands to take your glasses on or off and never place your glasses on top of your head. This will help keep them in shape and reduce the risk of breakages due to stress on the frame. When you put your glasses down, always make sure that the lenses are facing upwards to avoid damaging your lenses. Keep your glasses away from chemicals, aerosols and sprays (such as hairspray).

Storage

If they’re not on your face, they’re in the case!” It’s important to store your glasses when you are not wearing them to protect them from dust, as well as scratches and breakages. Make sure to store glasses away from excessive heat (e.g. in the car).

Adjustments

Over time, it’s normal for frames to become a little loose or lopsided. An adjustment from one of our trained optical dispensers will help get them back into shape.
