Abbey had a dream to be an optometrist ever since being prescribed her first pair of glasses at 6 years old. She is still grateful for the eye care she received as a child, and is driven by a desire to provide that same level of care and support to her young patients today. With roots in regional farming communities on both sides of her family, she understands the importance of accessible, high-quality, and trustworthy healthcare, regardless of location.

Originally from south-east Queensland, Abbey completed a Bachelor of Vision Science and a Master of Optometry at Deakin University in Victoria. She began her career in Darwin, where she spent three and a half years gaining experience in a broad range of clinical settings. It was there she discovered a passion for outreach work in remote communities and developed a strong interest in paediatric optometry. She particularly enjoys helping children improve their vision, which supports their learning and development.

Abbey practises across all areas of optometry, with special interests in paediatric optometry, dry eye management, and the treatment of acute red eye conditions.

Outside of work, Abbey enjoys playing the violin and spending time with her husband, daughter, and their German Shepherd.
