Dry Eye

Healthy tear production is an important element for comfortable eyes and clear vision. Dry eye occurs when the tear film does not produce adequate lubrication for the eye. Sometimes, the eye may not be producing enough tears or the tear quality is poor.

Dry eye often affects us as we become older, however, it can affect anyone at any age. Factors that can contribute to dry eye discomfort include wearing contact lenses, extended digital device use, medications, diet, and some health conditions.

What happens during a dry eye assessment?

A dry eye assessment allows our optometrist to examine the underlying causes and extent of your dry eye.

We use an Oculus Keratograph 5 to take high definition diagnostic images and scans to conduct a thorough analysis of your tear quality and structure of your glands.

After your assessment, a tailored treatment plan can then be developed by your optometrist.
